Ram Singh
Owner & Medical Director
Dr. Singh grew up in New York and earned an Associate’s degree in Agricultural Science from SUNY Cobleskill, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Biology from Cornell University. His interest in veterinary medicine developed while managing equine facilities and working as a dairy herdsman. He went on to attend The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he focused his studies on equine and bovine medicine.
Following veterinary school, Dr. Singh completed an internship at Brock Veterinary Clinic in Lamesa, Texas, a mixed-animal practice focused predominantly on performance horse medicine. After completing his internship, he returned to his home state of New York and worked in a busy mixed-animal practice. It was there that he discovered his strong interest in small animal medicine and surgery while continuing to develop his expertise in equine lameness. Dr. Singh particularly enjoys soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.
In September 2019, Dr. Singh moved to California with his wife, Mary, to be closer to family living in San Joaquin County. After relocating, he worked at a busy 24-hour small animal emergency hospital, where he gained extensive experience in emergency care, life-saving procedures, and advanced surgical management. During this time, he met Dr. Tanner at Family Veterinary Care of Oakdale and began working there one to two days per week.
In 2020, Dr. Singh and Mary decided to make Oakdale their permanent home, and he soon transitioned to full-time practice at Family Veterinary Care of Oakdale. In 2021, Dr. Singh and Mary purchased the hospital from Dr. Tanner and have continued its legacy of providing compassionate, high-quality veterinary care to Oakdale and the surrounding communities. He values the opportunity to serve the community he now proudly calls home. Dr. Singh and Mary welcomed their newborn son, Henry, in the summer of 2024, who is their pride and joy.
In his free time, Dr. Singh enjoys riding his horse, hiking, visiting national parks, wildlife photography, camping, and taking on home remodeling projects.
